THE DESIGN PROCESS

Step One - The Initial Design Consultation
On this first appointment, which is complimentary, please plan to spend approximately an hour with me.  The purpose of our initial appointment is to provide you with the opportunity to meet me and get a sense of my approach to creating a decorating plan for your home.  I, in turn, have the opportunity to learn about your decorating style and needs. We will take a tour of your home, discuss ideas for the project and establish a budget.  I will take measurements, digital photos and gather anything else I will need to work on your project. 
 
If your decorating project is small, involving minimum design time, we'll set up another appointment where I'll come back to you with a design for your approval.  If your decorating project is complex, requiring multiple fabrics, design styles or other design concepts, you will be asked to provide a retainer to cover my time in selecting the appropriate components for your personalized design.  This retainer is completely deductible from your total decorating purchase when you make your purchase within 60 days of my presentation.  If you require help with a project that is service oriented i.e. choosing paint colors, furniture placement or help formulating ideas for your home, at the end of the initial appointment I begin charging a hourly fee for my services.
 
Step Two - The Design Presentation
On this second appointment, I will return with samples of fabrics, design drawings, wallpaper or paint selections and other products we'll need to complete your design project.  It is so much easier for you to make good design decisions when you can see how the fabrics, wallpapers, rugs and other products will look in your home - with your lighting and with any existing furnishings you've decided to keep.  Remember, the best part is that I don't charge design fees - you only pay for the products you need for your design.
 
Step Three - Fabrication
Busy people appreciate how I save their precious time from the details of managing a project - selecting the products, placing the orders, follow-up, receiving and inspecting products.  I will take care of everything until we are ready to install.
 
Step Four - Installation
I will always be on hand to supervise the delivery and/or installation of any product we order for your design.  You will never be left with a delivery person who simply delivers your furnishings, leaving you wondering where everything is supposed to go.  We install your window treatments and steam them when appropriate to reduce wrinkles, arrange your new furniture, place your new bedding on your bed, place the rugs and arrange your accessories.  There's no need for you to lift a finger, just sit back and enjoy your new surroundings!
