Bedroom Decorating Tips Measure and experiment with the layout to make sure your bedroom furniture is not too large or too small to fit the space. Choose soothing, restful colors, accented with punchy decorative accessories. Make sure nightstands are as high as the top of the mattress. You don't want to be fumbling around in the dark to find the phone or alarm clock. Don't neglect bedroom window treatments. They should complement the room as well as block light for better sleep.
